  • What might indicate poor leadership within a organization?

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2009 and filed under leadership organization | 5 Comments »

When an organization is getting done exactly what it sets out to do, but the objectives are ill advised, or are poorly communicated within the organization, this is want of good leadership.

If the public image of the organization is an impediment, this is bad leadership. That could be that the public does not trust the organization to do what it promises, or that the organization is just too hard to do business with, or it is getting into a lot of lawsuits. Somehow it is not communicating well with the world.

If members of the organization are leaving, whether of their own choice or not, we have had bad leadership, but it may not be current.

When leadership is explaining why the world is not working well for the organization more than inspiring action to get in synch with the needs of the world, lack of leadership.

If so, what would be the limitations and constraints?

Yes it can. It simply will have to start paying takes. Many of the restraints, conditions, and reports required for a 501(c)3 corporation will be lifted. The board of directors will have to approve the change.

How important is the informal flow of communication in the organization?

    Apartment organization strategies?

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2009 and filed under organization strategies | 2 Comments »

I have had a messiness habit for years that I want to change. I am looking for strategies and ideas on how to work with my tendency to pile everything on open surfaces, having difficuty deciding on a home for it? (I have ADHD).

To start with everything has to have a place. A box for your jewellery. A rack for your shoes. Bookcases. Things like that.

Then you have to put things back in their place. Every single time you use them. It only takes a few seconds & it saves you hours n the long run.

Thirdly, get rid of junk. If you haven’t worn it in 12 months give it to a charity. If it’s broken, throw it out. Don’t think Oh, I’ll fix that one day. Doesn’t happen. Clean out your pantry, out of date food, bye bye.

Fourth, have a clean up once a week or once a fortnight where you vacuum, mop, clean the toilet that sort of thing. Once things are spick & span you will have that much more motivation to keep them that way.

How community based organizations can be integrated into an umbrella organization?

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2009 and filed under organizations | 1 Comment »

How community based organization can be integrated into an umbrella organization? We are living in small town and intend to form a coalition of different CBOs.Our town has sanitation problem,we want to combine the efforts of different organizations and solve the problem collectively. Is there any article, book or web site available for this particular purpose?

It is a tough thing to do. Some members of our community tried that and it did not work. The different org. did not want to come under the umbrella because of differences in each group’s Mission Statement. The umbrella group was attempting to coordinate the donations of time and money to ensure better results. It cause such a rift in the Community that the general consensus was to have each organization send two representatives for discussions on Community problems.

Why is a school considered to be a business organization?

what is the defininition of a business organization also?

What makes a business? Must be people paying money for goods or services, yes?

I was travelling recently and visited a city where the population is 180,000 people. In that city there are 7 universities and an article in the paper said that between them they own over 1000 buidings, they employ over 10,000 people including over 2000 professors, and have over 40,0000 students who pay an average of over $25,000 each per year to attend school.

That is $1 billion dollars per year of money that comes to the city because of the schools.

So, is that a business? – I think you could call it an Industry!

And because of the wonderful young people, the city is thriving. It is full of life – art, music, theater, many people who are educated and come to the city because they want to take part in the cultural life or raise their children in an atmosphere of culture….

Hard to say without knowing where you are, but there are tons of places that need volunteers. Hospitals, schools, city attractions (zoos, museums, theatres, etc.), community organizations such as the United Way, food banks, etc., special events and festivals.

Try googling "name of your city" and "volunteers" – see what you find.

Does your high school have a guidance office? They should know what opportunities are available in your city as well.
