It really depends – both styles are required at different times, depending on what stage the organization is at.
You can only successfully go through periods of transformation if you first have a period of preparation and follow the changes with a period of consolidation. Transactional leadership is required in these ‘buffer’ periods.
Most long-term leaders are transactional, but are often forgotten. Many transformational leaders live and die by the sword.
set up a "change review board" and mandate that all changes must be submitted to the board before they can be put into action.
This happens all the time in information systems; there are so many effects of changes that they must be strictly controlled so there are no bad consequences.
Was it Jesus who told them this of was it Father God Jehovah? What kind of proof they have for it?
How did the organisation receive this revelation that this organisation is the only true channel of communication between God and people??
Jehovah’s Witnesses really believe this, this is a serious question.
I used to think that Jehovah’s Witnesses claimed they became Jehovah’s sole channel of communication from 1919, based on this quote from the 1 April 1919 Watchtower: "Is not the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society the one and only channel which the Lord has used in dispensing his truth continually since the beginning of the harvest period?"
Also, from their book ‘Revelation – Its Great Climax Is At Hand!’: "1919 TIME OF INSPECTION BY THE SLAVE’S MASTER… Without a question of doubt, it was a real time for inspection of the Master’s ’slave’ class. All the facts of the case argue that the Master came for the work of inspection at that time. Such a thing was to be expected according to the prophecy of Malachi 3:1-5. Of course, the sectarian churches of Christendom had made a wartime record for themselves, an open record that had a heavy bearing on their claim to be disciples and slaves of Jesus Christ. Could they, by even their latest record down till 1919, prove that they themselves were the composite ‘faithful and discrete slave’ class of the heavenly Lord and Master, Jesus Christ? He as Judge would indicate what his findings were by the way he thereafter dealt with the hundreds of religious sects of Christendom."
But then I found this quote from their 1921 book ‘Studies In The Scriptures’ Volume 7 (page 236): "The same year, 1881, is prophetically marked as the time for the final withdrawal of favor from the churches, a favor which had begun to be withdrawn in 1878 – the year in which the clergy were cast off as representatives of the Divine Word, and when Pastor Russell began his work by the publication of 50,000 copies of ‘Object and Manner of the Lord’s Return’. In 1878 the stewardship of the things of God, the teaching of Bible truths, was taken from the clergy, unfaithful to their age long stewardship, and given to Pastor Russell. In the interim, until 1881, the new steward was setting the things in order, getting the truths of the Bible in logical and Scriptural form for presentation, until the last great item of the Hebrew tabernacle types, was ready. Then, in 1881, he became God’s watchman for all Christendom, and began his gigantic work of Witness." J.F. Rutherford was the author of this book, whose work was supervised by Messrs Woodworth and Fisher.
It was either in 1881 when Pastor Russell claimed he became God’s watchman for all Christendom, or it was in 1919 when the Master inspected all the churches of Christendom, found them wanting and appointed the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society as his one and only channel to dispense his truth.
I’m afraid I don’t know how they were given this information – I wasn’t around at the time – but I get the impression that Russell and Rutherford’s claims that it happened in 1881 were superceded with ‘new light’. The official line is that although the founders got it wrong, it doesn’t matter because their motives were pure and unselfish. Current thinking is ‘the Lord’ chose them in 1919, but I don’t know if, in 1919, they considered Jehovah to be the Lord or if that would be Christ Jesus.
Suggest what possible marketing strategies an organization can use in order to coup with the current economic downturn?
the answer should be brief.
Roll back your prices (where have I heard that before), tell people how your product or service saves them time and money, open a new lower cost product line or unbundle your service so that people can pay for just a component of your service. Conversely, hype the relative luxury/quality of your product while holding the price steady so that people feel they can enhance their image and have a small piece of the good life by buying your product or service for just a handful of dollars.
There are two international unions I know of, right off the bat. the international Brotherhood of Carpenters and Jointers. there’s also the international brotherhood of Cabinetmakers. You can find a local chapter on the web.
In some communities, there are guilds for cabintery, wood carving, and finish carpentry and jointery, as well as marquetry, fret work, all kinds of specialty wood work, including lathe and turning.
You can find these in the yellow pages, on the internet, or in professional listings with your city or town.
I know that organizations like the Red Cross get a discount for buying supplies like water and food. I’m looking for specific numbers.
Nope. Not at all skeptical. I’m doing a presentation to my Economics classes about relief to Haiti and want to talk about what trade-offs they would be willing to make to donate. For example, would they be willing to give up one $1 bag of hot cheetos if that $1 could be spent on sending 5 gallons of drinking water to Haiti. I was hoping to get numbers to give them a more clear picture of what their donation could buy.
I sence that you are doubtful about the benevolence of humanitarian organizations such as the red cross. Please dont be so skeptical. They do good work. Even if 1/2 of the money raised goes to buy limozines for its Ceo(which I doubt) The organization is still very effective. Skepicism can be directed in many better directions than to those who do good. Why do we have to shine a microscope on every penny that these organizations spend. Yes…I am sure there is some curruption there. There is curruption everywhere. I heard Santa Claus wears womens underwear. But do I criticize him for it? Hell no. The guy does good work!
managers* and receive dividends according to the number of shares they own? What is this called?
A Corporation
1. Determine if your company is affected by the Act (follow U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines).
2.Develop and execute your plan to bring your business into compliance by the first deadline (work with consultants, experts, your accountant, and your business solution provider).
3.Review your current IT systems, processes, and financial applications and determine their effectiveness for long-term compliance
Best way to find out is call your local Humane society or SPCA and ask them. They would be the best people to give you the correct information.
by training and development organizing work around subordinates becomes fairly easy, i.e, the span of control of the managers increase which help the organizations in low costs and thus better allocation of resources takes place. It also helps the managers effectively and efficiently attain the organizational goals. Also by training the employees helps the employees get updated with the latest skills and techniques…which in turn increase the productivity and output per worker i.e. the marginal and average productivity per worker increases………i think its enough.
