I’m trying to take advantage of some leadership opportunities that would be good for a med school/law school type application. I’ve tried starting a club at my school, however, there seemed to be a lack of support/advice coming in.
Are there any organizations that I can participate in that would look good in terms of leadership opportunities?
Thank you to all of the people who have responded..however, are there like educational organizations helping students in like high school settings or organizations that have the members do presentations on various academic disciplines????
VC, volunteering is always a good idea.
I remember reading a students application to med school and it was very impressive. She used to spend time volunteering in the charities set up by mother theresa. This kind of volunteering will be especially good if you wish to join medical school.
I do not know where you live, but you can volunteer with medecins sans frontieres. Do a google search.
You might like to join a summer camp.
I do not know what was the reason that the club at your school did not work out, but you should not give up. Look at the reasons why it did not work and look for ways to make it work. I think this is what leadership is about. I also draw your attention to the fact that making a success out of something not working is a desirable trait for any lawyer or doctor. They are people who find solutions.
Some companies actually incorporate into their routine transformational functions to adapt to things like growth, obsolescence and shifts in their industry.
the costs of poor communication within a company is immeasurable. Policies, ideas, requirements, roles, etc must be clearly communicated inorder for a business to function effectively and efficiently. consider the hundreds of thousands of dollars involved in a major equipment purchase or a software development project-if the needs are mis-communicated, the money could be wasted. the software doesn’t do what it was supposed to, or the machinery is wrong.
as far as goodwill, everyone works better and is happier and more productive when they know what is expected of them and their role and value to the organization. failure to communicate those things hurts productivity, morale and performance. and ultimately a compnay’s profits and success.
I am studying to a history teacher, and really want to get involved with professional organizations and attend conferences to learn more about the field. Unfortunately, my school is not very great with providing this sort of info to us, so I’m turning to you for assistance. If you have any ideas of organizations and conferences that would benefit a future teacher, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
look into the OHA or AHA, both are professional historical associations. They may require you get sponsorship for your membership from a faculty member at your school, or will require a dues fee. However, beyond that they offer all that one would expect of such an association.
I’m doing a research project on starvation in Africa and organizations that help fight against it. I have found a few, but I need more than I have. Also, more facts about poverty in Africa would be very usefull!
Doctors without borders
Feed the children
Bread for the world
World Vision
World Food Program
and many more.
do a web search with key words like: relief and development, NGO, humanitarian, starvation Africa

That a question from subject Project Management.
A learning organization is basically a project intended to systematically educate, stimulate, and reward its participants in the realization of its activities. Its ultimate goal is to prepare participants for life.
Project management is basically the organized oversight of a series of activities intended to, in some way facilitate life.
Both of these are organizations, both are processes, both are hierarchical, both have a chain of command, both have written and detailed directives.
In what ways do laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act affect human services organizations?
This question has been asked several times before using the exact same words. What class are you taking and where?
No, I wouldn’t say it was "advisable". Both have good career options. Good testers aren’t that easy to find, but there are less jobs available for them. I would say they’re of equal value. It’s hard to say more without more detail.

History of Enlightened Leadership Solutions
The best place to begin is where we got our name.
The Allied Forces had just won a quick and decisive victory in the first Gulf War. The efficiency and the effectiveness of the forces were notable. One of our principals was watching CNN interview one of the Generals in Saudi Arabia .
The General who shared his observations and analysis on why the Allied Forces were so successful commented: The chain of command has empowered the armed forces in the field to get the job done. Decisions are being made at the battle front, not by the brass in Washington . Now thats enlightened leadership.
Three years later, the book was published by Simon & Schuster. The book is in its 31st printing and has sold over 230,000 copies worldwide.
What weve learned is a profound demonstration about the power of human capital, and unleashing that power is at the very core of our work.
Philosophy of Enlightened Leadership Solutions
We believe that people are the cornerstone to success. People are the single biggest opportunity to realize performance gains without expending or investing in additional resources.
Attitude, alignment, communication, focus and commitment are critical differentiators between those who thrive and those who just survive. We consistently find that individuals, teams, and organizations who execute these areas well, out-perform those who may have more technical knowledge or talent.
We believe that what makes people tick doesnt change much from company to company. The behavior that is driven by management philosophy, culture, process, systems, procedures, and structure is unique to each organization. Research has concluded that cultural alignment is a significant factor behind failed mergers and executive retention. Much of the knowledge we have gained over the years will impact individual performance. Organizational performance is further dependent on what, how, and when that knowledge is applied to those unique organizational factors.
We also believe that innovation and knowledge transference is critical and that the greatest measure of our success is how fast organizations integrate and apply the capabilities that we initially provide them. Our goal is to create independence, not dependence on us for success. We are a catalyst and guide for change, not the holder of the process. The more organizations are accountable for success, the greater and more sustaining the performance improvements. Developing that accountability is an important part of our work.
