  • why training and development important for an organization?

    So that people will know how to do their jobs? And so that existing people can be trained to do more valuable jobs. Keeping the mind sharp is good for morale too.

    I am graduate of Aberdeen University (Scotland) with disseration on project monitoring and evaluation. I have 17 years of work experience in Africa with NGOs and government mainly on development and huimanitarian programmes. Specifically, I am interested to work on environment rehabilitation, livelihood development, marketing/cooperative buseinss, rural development. Currently I am working with a European development organization supporting communities in Ethiopia through local partners (mainly NGOs).
    Now I would like to live and work in Canada and wish to know how to get a job there.

    Any help?

    I study the stock market and all I can tell you is canada is becoming big with shipping, oil production. If I were you, I’d look into working for an energy company. Its a great field to get into. Good luck hope I helped

    International Organization for Women & Development – Part 2

    In the African nation of Niger, thousands of women suffer from a condition called Obstetrical Fistulas which can occur during a difficult childbirth. The result is incontinence which causes these women to become outcasts from their family and community. Since 2003, the IOWD organizes teams for surgeons, nurses and staff on medical missions to Niger to help these women who are considered “untouchable” by society. This is their story.

    The Nature Conservancy is a great one. Do not go to the sierra Club. They sound wonderful. But that’s about it. They partner up with many corporations to help make the economy stronger but do not really do anything at all to help wildlife.

    They are pushing CFL light bulbs. Hello?? These light bulbs contain mercury!
