What are some alternative solutions to offer a charity organization when you cannot make a contribution?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under organization strategies | 1 Comment »

For my English class I am having to write a letter to the president of a charity organization that helps the senior citizens in my business area. I think I have a solid neutral buffer and the reason for my refusal, but I am having a hard time thinking of suggestions I can make to them. We are having to use the bad news strategy with the letter, which is why we are to offer a helpful solution or suggestion. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Offer to donate time (volunteering in one of their shops if that is an option), goods (for the same) and also volunteer to help in their daily routine. This may means a lengthy process with disclosures etc but as it is hypothetical, that shouldn’t be a problem. Offer to promote their charity by posters, postal drop and handing out of leaflets on the street. You could also have a fundraiser – musical evening, dance, coffee morning etc – for the charity of your choice.

Election 5: An Extraordinary Moment in American Political History

Theda Skocpol of Harvard University argues that the 2008 presidential election will be viewed as a choice point in American history, a milestone comparable in political significance to the 1932 and 1968 elections. Rarely do we see such sharp divisions in party message, organizational strategies, coalitional strategies, and with marked—and to some degree surprising—implications for the way inequalities of race, gender, and class are going to play out in the future.

Part 5 of 14 from “American Inequality and the 2008 Election,” a panel discussion sponsored by the Harvard Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality & Social Policy, October 21, 2008.

How has e-business influenced consumer behavior? Behavior research tools are available for organization?

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2010 and filed under organization strategies | 1 Comment »

How has e-business influenced consumer behavior? What consumer behavior research tools are available for organizations that utilize e-business technologies? How does the information obtained from these tools impact marketing strategies?

E-business makes the consumer more savvy in price and more informed about the product. You can research all the features of a product and compare to others in the click of a button. You can buy a product in the home-country of origin and save the middle man fees you pay by buying it domestically. They also become more decisive. For example, I shopped for my car online. Once I went to the dealership, I already had my mind made up – the sales staff, etc. could do very little to influence me and I was not about to "go home and think about it" etc. I shopped online, contacted the dealership, and bought the car. Market research companies research consumer behavior to determine what trends are occuring. This information is used to alter the company’s e-presense to be more consumer-friendly. AND, comapanies of all kinds have to adjust their prices (to keep up with increased GLOBAL competition) and increase the knowledge of their staff to keep up with the better-educated consumers.

Is lowering morale an effective strategy for downsizing an organization due to people quitting voluntarily?

Posted by admin on February 27th, 2010 and filed under organization strategies | 2 Comments »

It would probably work, but unfortunately the people who could leave the easiest, so would probably be the first ones out the door, are probably the ones you want to keep rather than the ones you want to get rid of. Overall, a really bad tactic I’d say.

What are the new recruitment strategies that would make an organisation a great organisation?

Posted by admin on February 25th, 2010 and filed under organization strategies | 2 Comments »

The modern idea of recruitment is some thing different. A organisation should have 4 or 5 piller, like one person from Finance, accounts, Marketing, production and administration. They will be be higest paid ( one has to see these person are satified in all respect, if they are not satisfied they will be a thief) Rest recruitment will be different, Take high IQ and good memory person with logical approach and who love work. They may not be good in educational back ground. Shap them, train them, give responsibility. They will be only fit for your system not for others. They can not change their service due to lack of educational back ground.
