purpose and empowerment are two key components of the rational leadership model. research a business organization that positively and publicly displays these components in their mission and pratices.

NAACPThe National Association for the Advancement of Colored People offers support and guidance to African-Americans. The organization keeps us abreast with everything that has an influence in our lives as people of color. The organization presents notable political figures & media, making communities more involved and less apathetic. Civil rights and social justice affects us all. You are never too young or old to have a voice and to participate in the NAACP. You are never too far and your problems are never too broad or distinct to be positively affected by the NAACP. The NAACP has a strong commitment to the community, health issues, economics, and education. The NAACP truly empowers not only African-Americans but all people of color. I was a student ambassador for ACT-SO, an NAACP program which allowed us to recruit and encourage African-American students to utilize their academic and artistic skills to gain recognition and scholarships. With ACT-SO, high school students develop individually and their academic and artistic achievements are celebrated. ACT-SO helps African-American youth and showed me how endless my opportunities really are – as endless as I make them. Programs like ACT-SO are the products of the drive and ambition of NAACP leaders and members to enhance our communities.

Communication, in an organization, either allows that organization to function properly (if it is good) or to malfunction (if it is poor). It serves as the stitches holding the fabric of the organization together. Without it, everything unravels.

Is anyone a current member, and if so, is it worth joining? Are there any other organizations I should look into?

According to their web site "The Compliance and Legal Division’s members are primarily compliance and legal professionals associated with SIFMA – Compliance & Legal Division Member Firms. The Division’s purpose – to foster an effective self-regulatory system through the efforts of Compliance and Legal personnel – is promoted by its members’ activities, the focus of which is education, communication and advocacy. The Division seeks to preserve and enhance the reputation of the securities industry and the self-regulatory system. The Division also works to facilitate communication between the industry and the regulatory community on key issues"

This is a good job !! Please join . Best of Luck !!

I want to apply for master in social work and they ask for some experience in working in a social service organization. I have worked at a gymnastics club as a coach for about 6 years and I was wondering if that would be considered as working in a social service organization. What do you guys think ?

I think working with youth as a coach should be considered as a form of social work. You have given guidance and direction to those young people. You have nothing to lose by discussing this with a counsellor before you apply.
Good luck

its for my project.

ok so there’s a hospital with lack of staff and equipment- a private hospital

the experienced staff has left, and their replacements are qualified with not much practical experience

how to solve this problem?

also how to measure an organizational intervention? plzzzzzzzz help me!!!!

I would consider the following.

(1) Start with the end in mind. To measure the impact of the program, identify the key outputs or measurements of performance in the hospital. Is it speed to recovery? Bed Utilization? Diagnostic accuracy? Find out the hospitals key performance metrics.
(2) Then conduct a needs analysis that identifies the key challenges and or skills/experiences that the current staff is weak in that impact these metrics. This creates alignment between deficiency and how the hospital evaluates it performance.
(3 Consider creating a mentoring program that offers some of those veterans that have left to come in on a contract basis to be coaches or mentors to the current staff. By making it part time, and structured around key challenges, skills, etc. you can get a focused effort from the mentors. Nothing works better than the Master/Apprentice development method.

Just my thoughts. Hope this helps.
