  • Leadership Organizations/Opportunities?

Posted by admin on March 31st, 2010 and filed under leadership organization | 4 Comments »

I’m trying to take advantage of some leadership opportunities that would be good for a med school/law school type application. I’ve tried starting a club at my school, however, there seemed to be a lack of support/advice coming in.

Are there any organizations that I can participate in that would look good in terms of leadership opportunities?
Thank you to all of the people who have responded..however, are there like educational organizations helping students in like high school settings or organizations that have the members do presentations on various academic disciplines????

VC, volunteering is always a good idea.

I remember reading a students application to med school and it was very impressive. She used to spend time volunteering in the charities set up by mother theresa. This kind of volunteering will be especially good if you wish to join medical school.
I do not know where you live, but you can volunteer with medecins sans frontieres. Do a google search.

You might like to join a summer camp.

I do not know what was the reason that the club at your school did not work out, but you should not give up. Look at the reasons why it did not work and look for ways to make it work. I think this is what leadership is about. I also draw your attention to the fact that making a success out of something not working is a desirable trait for any lawyer or doctor. They are people who find solutions.

Hey dude. Yeah, go to your college and see if your councilors office has any information on that. Also look in the newspaper, and search on the internet. There must be something around your area.

How about a young republicans/democrats club? Also, how about some ROTC classes? You will not find another organization more geared towarded leadership than the military! You don’t have to join or anything, but you will learn ground level leadership. Are you in highschool or College?

Start a protest calling for oil companies to lower the price of gas. March at your college and make signs and invite the media. and sue them for drilling oil off our shores and not giving the american people a percentage. lol, I would participate in that
