So that people will know how to do their jobs? And so that existing people can be trained to do more valuable jobs. Keeping the mind sharp is good for morale too.

Training and development of personnel is of utmost importance in any organization. The reasons are obvious. Human beings are the most important assets, which the manager can effectively utilize in order to carry the organization to greater heights in terms of positive change and evolution as well as gaining competitive advantage over rivals. If employees’ skills and versatility are not updated, the organization cannot grow. Service delivery will not be as effective as expected. Also, it is the job of others to implement the organization’s training and development policies (personnel or human resources managers).
