Where we as managers/leaders focus our attention and energy has a huge impact on the results we get through others – the point of management and leadership. It also impacts our own personal results, as this video will clarify.

History of Enlightened Leadership Solutions
The best place to begin is where we got our name.
The Allied Forces had just won a quick and decisive victory in the first Gulf War. The efficiency and the effectiveness of the forces were notable. One of our principals was watching CNN interview one of the Generals in Saudi Arabia .
The General who shared his observations and analysis on why the Allied Forces were so successful commented: The chain of command has empowered the armed forces in the field to get the job done. Decisions are being made at the battle front, not by the brass in Washington . Now thats enlightened leadership.
Three years later, the book was published by Simon & Schuster. The book is in its 31st printing and has sold over 230,000 copies worldwide.
What weve learned is a profound demonstration about the power of human capital, and unleashing that power is at the very core of our work.
Philosophy of Enlightened Leadership Solutions
We believe that people are the cornerstone to success. People are the single biggest opportunity to realize performance gains without expending or investing in additional resources.
Attitude, alignment, communication, focus and commitment are critical differentiators between those who thrive and those who just survive. We consistently find that individuals, teams, and organizations who execute these areas well, out-perform those who may have more technical knowledge or talent.
We believe that what makes people tick doesnt change much from company to company. The behavior that is driven by management philosophy, culture, process, systems, procedures, and structure is unique to each organization. Research has concluded that cultural alignment is a significant factor behind failed mergers and executive retention. Much of the knowledge we have gained over the years will impact individual performance. Organizational performance is further dependent on what, how, and when that knowledge is applied to those unique organizational factors.
We also believe that innovation and knowledge transference is critical and that the greatest measure of our success is how fast organizations integrate and apply the capabilities that we initially provide them. Our goal is to create independence, not dependence on us for success. We are a catalyst and guide for change, not the holder of the process. The more organizations are accountable for success, the greater and more sustaining the performance improvements. Developing that accountability is an important part of our work.

Since we don’t have a political deaf organization, we are called People with Disabilities.
There may be only ONE way to be part of the Political World is to have a Deaf Political Organization that has a largest membership and money. Without it, there is no new political definition for Deaf Community.
We must find a new leader or Deaf organization that is willing to create a new bank account for one presidential candidate. YES, LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD. YES, WE CAN CHANGE.

I entered this video into the USAService.org contest. Its not just telling the world what Im going to do on MLK day, its more. Its my quest I began on 11.4, my service to this world to re-ignite the passion of civic involvement so it doesn’t fade away post the inaugural. Our involvement is key to our world solving its problems. This video is my service and I will continue my entire life to try to inspire us all to be involved. I know now, that is why I was put on this Earth.
YOU can help re-ignite our world’s passion for change that was at an all time high just prior to the election simply by watching this video and forwarding it. Our world needs your passion now, more then ever. FORWARD this video to everyone you know and ask them to do the same.
BEHIND THE SCENES WHY AND HOW THIS VIDEO WAS CREATED: Anyone who joined the Obama administration, I would assume, thought long and hard before making that commitment, understanding the personal sacrifices they would have to make. But they did join, because I would imagine they felt compelled, as I do, to do something for our world, and they knew this was their time.
I also know this is my time. Im 53 (CEO of a production company) and I have no time to waste. So what I did was create an organization I believe anyone wanting to effect change in this world will be interested in, and most importantly, an organization which can help our new President keep the momentum of involvement as strong now as it was before the election (a very difficult task).
The organization is called The Yes We Can (Change our Destiny) Project
What makes me who I am: My father survived the holocaust in Europe, I grew up with very little and was raised by my grandmother, I survived cancer as a young man, my wife and I lost 7 babies as we tried post my cancer to have children and my wife may now be ill herself. So I know something of hardship, but I also know that out of hardship, such as our world faces now, comes resolve. I mention the above publicly only so that all who read this understand the resolve which is within me.
When on Nov. 4th at Grant Park, President Elect Obama said we have an opportunity to put our hands on the “arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope for a better day, I resolved to grab that opportunity. I resolved to proactively do more then just help get our President elected.
Realizing that I can personally help bend the arc of history meaning that I can literally change our destiny, was a tipping point for me.
So I resolved to create the Yes We Can (Change our Destiny) Project

This organization and its first video can inspire millions to continue to stay involved.
Ive tested our first project and it works as expected, thousands of hits in the first few days. This puts the power to re-engage millions at our collective fingertips. But I cant do it alone, I need everyone who reads this post to forward the YouTube link for this project to everyone they know, so as to help re-ignite the fervor and commitment to change that existed prior to the election.
Will.i.am inspired us by his video to get Barack Obama elected. Now lets finish the job and keep everyone inspired.
To be clear: I wish nothing; no fame, no fortune, not even any credit. I just want to know I did something to help and to inspire. Because I know that inspiration is one of the most powerful forces in the world and I know the President elect is brilliant at creating and harnessing it.
The high def video was carefully produced. I created, produced and funded it entirely myself, which, from a practical standpoint, I know I should not have. But I did so to create a high quality effective video, as that is what is needed to re-ignite our collective passion. 40 of Chicagos and the nations top artists, engineers, directors of photography, musicians and philosophical confidents of mine were behind this video.
It was recorded at the Chicago Recording Company, interestingly, though accidentally, on December 7th, Pearl Harbor day (that day that lived in infamy engaging Americans so many years ago at a different time of strife in our nations history).
I would like to ask you to please pass on the link above to everyone you know, so as to help ensure that our world stays inspired.
I fully expect the President elect to have as one of his key messages during the inaugural, that we must all ask not what our country can do for you I will be there to watch Mr. Obama give that message to us all. I hope this video can be of some help to him in his quest to keep us all involved in bending the arc of history.
(note: all Barack Obama footage from Grant Park used in this video is fully licensed through a stock house).

Dusan Brown, http://www.TheBrownBoys.ws had the pleasure of doing voiceover and starring in this commercial for http://www.OunceofPrevention.org. This was his first voiceover booking and according to the project producers, he nailed it! Hats off, Dusan!
They were so impressed with him that we were invited to the luncheon in which this commercial was revealed… there were over 600 attendees, and Dusan was to excited to finally see the finished project before such a huge audience! Stanford’s Lawrence Lessig: We are in “dangerous cycle now” with misinformation in the blogosphere
NEW YORK — Earlier today at the Personal Democracy Forum, we spoke with Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig. Lessig is spending a great deal of time on congressional reform movement called Change Congress, an organization he co-founded with Joe Trippi.
Handling the interview was our colleague Caroline McCarthy of CNET News.com who filed a story earlier in the day on Lessig’s keynote speech.
In this interview, Lessig spoke about the need for reform in campaign funding for congress and how he hopes Change Congress will make it happen with an active base of 50,000 members.
In this wide ranging interview, he voiced his concern about a “cycle of misinformation” in the blog world and its impact on mainstream media and public discourse. He cited the recent issue surrounding Judge Kozinski.
In the question about the Associated Press controversy, he says “the AP will be shown to wrong.” He adds that colleagues at the Stanford Law School will be involved representing defendants charged by the AP.
Caroline has a second report on the conference and on her on-camera interview with Lessig.
For anoter report on the Personal Democracy Forum, check out The New York Times “The Caucus” blog written by Kit Seelye who has been at the conference for the past two days.

The people at WeForest.org asked Pinky to do a guest voice over for their video. The video was produced by their organization to use at the United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen (a.k.a. COP15, 2009), to help focus attention to the potential benefits of reforestation using permaculture techniques to fight climate change. Please see Willie Smits TED Conference presentation (just 20 minutes long, it’ll probably blow your mind) for an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vfuCPFb8wk
