All children are our future. They all deserve our love. Join us to feed, teach, protect, and nurture children in America and around the world. In keeping families together, we have avoided the placement of children into foster situations. In keeping families together, we have provided a safe, loving, nurturing environment that has already existed. Parents become more happy when they are self sufficient and are able to earn the income they need to raise the standard of living for their family.
Childrens Wish list Foundation doesn’t claim to be the biggest wish granting organization, just to be the best. The services and personal attention that we provide our families are unsurpassed and our Wish Families praise us daily for our professionalism, attention to each detail of their child’s wish, and the extra mile we always go for our families. We know, however, that all of these efforts would be impossible without the support of individuals and corporations that choose to contribute to CWLF. We make it easy for our donors to give in many ways.

http://www.abroaderview.org/cameroon.php Volunteer Cameroon Abroad Buea Orphanage HIV Programs
Cameroon is a safe Central African Republic bordered to the west by the Gulf of Guinea. One of the most diverse countries in Africa, Cameroon is often referred to as “Africa in miniature?. Cameroon has everything you would expect from the African continent; tropical rainforests, deserted golden beaches, great expanses of desert, vast lakes and savannah, and volcanic mountains in-between. Compared with other African countries, Cameroon enjoys political and social stability. Nevertheless, large numbers of Cameroonians live in poverty as subsistence farmers. The unemployment rate is high and those who are employed perform mostly agricultural tasks. The HIV/AID crises have hit hard especially the children, many of whom lack proper healthcare. Cameroon has one of the highest school attendance rates in Africa. Although attendance rates are high, there is a shortage of teacher leaving schools chronically understaffed. Cameroon is having two seasons that is the rainy and dry season; the rainy season runs from March to September while the dry season runs from October to February. The major spoken languages are still English and French but a multitude of more than 200 ethnic languages are also in circulation, with various tribes populating the country. Our programs are located in Buea and the surrounding rural towns where English is predominately spoken. The nearest airport from our head office is Douala International, about an hour drive from Buea. All participants should book their flights to Douala Airport. The volunteer program goal is to give international support to local organizations helping needy children and young people throughout south west Cameroon.

Former Microsoft executive John Wood discusses hand-delivering a load of donated books to a rural village in Nepal, an experience that inspired him to quit his job and start the international non-profit organization “Room to Read.”
—–
John Wood discusses “Leaving Microsoft to Change the World: An Entrepreneur’s Odyssey to Educate the World’s Children”
In 1998, John Wood was a rising executive at Microsoft when he took a vacation that changed his life. What started as a trekking holiday in Nepal became a spiritual journey, and then a mission: to change the world one book and one child at a time. So upon returning from holiday, John did what most of us can only dream of doing: he walked away from millions to do “more”. Over the next five years he would make the unlikely marriage between Microsoft business practices and the world of non-profits to create Room to Read, an organization that has created a network of over 2,000 schools and libraries (with over one million books) throughout communities in Southeast Asia and India.

Concordia Children’s Services, as a Christian organization, is responding to many situations of need, particularly to one important sector of our society – the less fortunate children of the Philippines. These are hapless children who are abandoned as a result of being born out-of-wedlock, broken marriages, extreme poverty, irresponsible attitudes and ignorance, the street children who most often have dysfunctional families and who are neglected and abused.
